LaSandra Brown, BSN, MBA, RN, CNOR, NPD-BC has been a registered nurse over 22 years and has worked in the perioperative, professional development, and leadership arena for the duration of her career. She has spent her career in various roles including staff, resource nurse, charge nurse, manager, program director, Nurse Education Specialist II leading the OR nurse residency program, and Medical Care Line Staff Development Coordinator supporting inpatient and outpatient oncology units. In the perioperative area, she specialized in plastics, orthopedics, general surgery, neurosurgery, vascular access surgical procedures, OB-GYN, robotics, pediatrics and AOD (Admission, Observation, and Discharge area). LaSandra is currently a Nurse Educator at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center leading institutional nursing orientation where she is instrumental in ensuring the frontline staff are equipped to provide optimal care to our oncology population. She has and continues to serve on institutional committees. LaSandra is a member of American Nurses Association (ANA), Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD), and the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN). She has been a member of AORN Greater Houston for over 20 years serving in multiple roles including Nominating committee member and chair, Membership chair, Board of Directors, and currently Chair of bylaws/policy and procedures. She has also served as a member of the CNOR PIN committee for CCI and the National AORN CE approval committee
