Dr. Julie Martin is Director of Research for the Cancer Institute at Prisma Health in Greenville, SC. For over 35 years, her nursing career has centered around the care of oncology patients. Dr. Martin received her undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina, a Master of Science degree from Clemson University and is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Chatham University. Dr. Martin’s research oversight principally includes her institution’s National Cancer Institute Clinical Oncology Research Program (NCORP), the Phase I Clinical Research Unit and Biorepository Services, the Center for Integrative Oncology and Survivorship (CIOS), Oncology Research related to Nursing and Allied Health, and the Center for Cancer Prevention and Wellness. In her role, she provides overall leadership and direction for the research staff and serves as a mentor in guiding young investigators of the Cancer Institute. In addition, she collaborates with research project leads to assist with study design and implementation, regulatory processes, contracts, and budgets, and serves as a resource for grant writing and extramural funding opportunities.
